What is McTimoney-Corley Spinal Therapy
McTimoney-Corley Spinal Therapy is a method of restoring health by
gentle corrective manipulation of the bones of the head, spinal column, pelvis and limbs, thereby ensuring the proper functioning of the nerves and endocrine
systems which control the natural self-healing capability of the body.
McTimoney-Corley Spinal Therapists are trained to assess bone misalignments by using their hands, and to correct any of these subluxations with highly refined
yet extremely gentle manipulations.
Subluxation describes a joint that has become fixed within it's normal range
of movement. This can potentially result in a reduced range of movement in the joint, muscle spasm and impingement of nerves. A subluxation within any joint
can have a knock on effect and cause problems and disease in other parts of the body.
In real terms the effects of subluxations can potentially result in pain, discomfort
and a reduction in performance.
The effect of this treatment is to contract the muscles, which are in spasm and
holding the bone in a subluxated position. When the spasmodic muscles relax, the joint returns to optimum mobility, and the vertebrae rotate to their natural position.
